This award-winning documentary opens in Bombay, where 20 girls are attending a month-long beauty boot camp in hopes of winning the prestigious title of Miss India. At this bootcamp, we meet Ruhi, a small town girl who believes that winning Miss India will help her voice be heard in a male dominated society, and ultimately provide her with a path to make meaningful change in India. Filmmaker Nisha Pahuja then travels to another corner of India where we meet Prachi, a young Hindu nationalist who has already fought on the front lines of the fundamentalist movement.
