Why ‘I Love New York’ Deserves Some Recognition
On January 1, 2006, a new show hit the screen, and it changed the game forever. That show was not “I Love New York” (see, let me get to my point!). That show was “Flavor of Love,” starring former Public Enemy hype-man Flavor Flav. After the conclusion of season 1 of “Flavor of Love,” we received our first spinoff (never mind that “Flavor of Love” was a spinoff of “Strange Love,” which was a spinoff of season three of “The Surreal Life). What was born changed reality television for good. The notorious Tiffany “New York” Pollard and her even more notorious mother received their very own reality dating show. Get a few dozen caricatures of men, throw them in a house and have them compete for a woman who call herself the “HBIC” and you’ll get compelling television. It was so simple. anigif_enhanced-25620-1403665057-13 Not to be lost is the talent of New York herself. Sure, she was crass. She was bossy. She was incredibly condescending. But this seemingly vile character could turn her inflection on a dime, and bring explosiveness, sensitivity and an unbelievable level of entertainment. Robert De Niro Makes More Comedies Than Early Career, But Reviews Have Suffered
Robert De Niro is one of those actors destined to win a lifetime achievement award someday (maybe quite soon). While the 72-year-old Academy Award winner has starred in a wide selection of comedic movies over the last decade or two, the ratings have not favored this decision.  This chart, courtesy of the Washington Post‘s Cristina Rivero, shows how his percentage of highly-rated films has dipped since his switch from the more serious roles of his youth. Screen Shot 2016-02-01 at 2.19.43 PM Few would question that De Niro has been a comedic staple in the 21st century, mixing his tough-spirited characters with ridiculous storylines, but has he lost prestige in the process?

Resurrection’ Rotten Tomatoes Review
By all accounts, the 2012 horror piece “Night of the Living Dead: Resurrection” was not a good movie, but is this a case where comparison to a classic (“Night of the Living Dead”) is hurting it? Felix Vasquez Jr. of Cinema Crazed doesn’t seem to think so. “Director James Plumbs’ zombie picture is yet another terrible and dunderheaded indie zombie film that fails to re-think the sub-genre.” The full review can be read here. Based on audience reviews, it received 5% positive reviews.
