Robert De Niro Makes More Comedies Than Early Career, But Reviews Have Suffered
Robert De Niro is one of those actors destined to win a lifetime achievement award someday (maybe quite soon). While the 72-year-old Academy Award winner has starred in a wide selection of comedic movies over the last decade or two, the ratings have not favored this decision.
This chart, courtesy of the Washington Post‘s Cristina Rivero, shows how his percentage of highly-rated films has dipped since his switch from the more serious roles of his youth.
Few would question that De Niro has been a comedic staple in the 21st century, mixing his tough-spirited characters with ridiculous storylines, but has he lost prestige in the process?

Resurrection’ Rotten Tomatoes Review
By all accounts, the 2012 horror piece “Night of the Living Dead: Resurrection” was not a good movie, but is this a case where comparison to a classic (“Night of the Living Dead”) is hurting it? Felix Vasquez Jr. of Cinema Crazed doesn’t seem to think so.
“Director James Plumbs’ zombie picture is yet another terrible and dunderheaded indie zombie film that fails to re-think the sub-genre.”
The full review can be read here. Based on audience reviews, it received 5% positive reviews.
