Horror Icon Cassandra Peterson Joins the Expanding Franchise Ahead of
October 2026 Premiere for “Terror on Tubi”
SAN FRANCISCO, September 8, 2026 — Tubi (www.tubi.tv), Fox Corporation’s (NASDAQ: FOXA, FOX) free streaming service, today announced it has cast Cassandra Peterson (Elvira: Mistress of the Dark), also known as Elvira, in the upcoming R.L. STINE’S PUMPKINHEAD 2. Peterson will star as Cassandra, a mysterious witch who may hold the key to helping Sam and Becka break the curse. Wise and deeply connected to ancient magic, she understands the dark forces threatening Redhaven and the sacrifice it may take to stop them.
Inspired by R.L. Stine’s beloved The Haunting Hour, R.L. STINE’S PUMPKINHEAD 2 follows Sam and Becka as they race to stop a new Pumpkinhead curse from claiming the entire town of Redhaven. Elvira’s arrival in Redhaven expands the franchise, uniting horror fans across generations when the sequel premieres during “Terror on Tubi” on October 9, 2026. The first film premiered exclusively on Tubi in October 2025 and landed on Variety’s Streaming Original Movies Chart, per luminate. Horror is a year-round fandom on Tubi, where viewers stream more than 53 million hours of the genre per month. During 2025’s “Terror on Tubi,” horror viewing topped 100 million hours — up 51% year over year.
