Tubi Kids will be available to all Android users in the coming days, expanding its current availability on Roku, Fire TV and Comcast Xfinity.

SAN FRANCISCO, February 11, 2020 – Tubi (www.tubi.tv), the world’s largest free ad-supported video on demand (AVOD) service, today announced record growth for 2019. In December alone, the company saw its Monthly Active Users (MAU) grow to 25 million and Total View Time (TVT) rocket to over 163 million hours watched – a year-over-year TVT increase of 160%1. In addition, the company will accelerate its content spending in 2020 to exceed nine figures to further expand its current library of content from major studios, indies, and TV producers from around the globe. Tubi presently works with over 250 content partners which include Warner Bros., Paramount, and Lionsgate.

The company saw rapid growth internationally. Year-over-year in Canada and Australia, there was a 357% increase in TVT – and in the coming year Tubi will launch in additional territories including Mexico and the UK. Recently, Tubi announced a partnership with one of the largest broadcasters in Mexico – TV Azteca – to provide Spanish language content, which includes their most popular series and advertising sales support. Tubi also announced a global deal with one of the world’s largest manufacturers of TVs – Hisense – to prominently include Tubi as part of their Vidaa platform.

In 2019, Tubi increased its headcount to over 229 full-time employees, an increase of 78% versus 2018. The company will rapidly add more employees in the coming year as Tubi continues its expansion both domestically and internationally.

The sci-fi thriller and companion docu-series will be available completely free this summer

SAN FRANCISCO, January 27, 2020 – Tubi (www.tubi.tv), the world’s largest free ad-supported video on demand (AVOD) service, today announced it would be the exclusive streaming home to Red 11 and The Robert Rodriguez Film School from the eponymous critically-acclaimed filmmaker of From Dusk Till Dawn, Spy Kids, and Alita: Battle Angel. Following a world premiere at SXSW and official screening in Cannes Directors’ Fortnight, the film and series will be available on Tubi in the US, Canada, and Mexico this summer.

Based on Robert Rodriguez’s experiences in a medical research facility to finance his first feature El Mariachi, Red 11 is set in the dark, twisted world of legal drug research. College kids turn lab rats to make quick money, and our hero, Rob (who is assigned the color and number Red 11), is here to buy his way out of a huge debt to the tune of $7,000. But things get surreal when he’s not sure if the hospital is really trying to kill him, or if it’s side effects from the experimental drugs.

Equally as intriguing as the movie itself, Robert Rodriguez produced this movie with the same sensibility and methodology – and $7,000 budget – as his first feature El Mariachi.  The Robert Rodriguez Film School is a docu-series companion piece to the feature that explains this process, while speaking to filmmakers and entrepreneurs alike on overcoming the perceived limitations of time, budget, and other variables.

SAN FRANCISCO AND MEXICO CITY, January 21, 2020 – Tubi (www.tubi.tv), the world’s largest free ad-supported video on demand (AVOD) service, today announced it will expand its service into Mexico later this year in collaboration with TV Azteca, one of the two largest producers of Spanish-language television programming in the world. As part of the deal, TV Azteca will offer advertising sales for Tubi in Mexico and promote the service to its massive audience via online and other platforms. In addition, some of TV Azteca’s most popular titles will be made available completely free to Tubi customers in Mexico, including Exatlón Mexico, MasterChef, and Lo que La Gente Cuente, among others.

Also announced today, Tubi will partner with Hisense – one of the world’s largest manufacturers of televisions – and their Vidaa platform to be the exclusive connected TV partner in Mexico. As part of its partnership with Hisense, Tubi will be preloaded and prominently placed on the Vidaa TV homepage with content also listed in the “Vidaa Free” section of the platform – as well as their dedicated “free content” button found on their remotes. Tubi will also be supported in-store with retail promotion this year and on retail packaging in 2021.

TUBI COMES TO AMAZON ECHO SHOW DEVICES

First Ad-supported Video on Demand (AVOD) service on Echo Show

SAN FRANCISCO, November 21, 2019 – Tubi (www.tubi.tv), the world’s largest free ad-supported video on demand (AVOD) service, today announced its library of over 15,000 movies and TV shows is now available to stream on Amazon Echo Show devices. The first AVOD service available on the device, consumers can ask Alexa to launch Tubi and begin watching a title or touch the screen to control their experience.

In addition to the over 44,000 hours of content Tubi offers, Amazon Echo Show users can enjoy Tubi’s new December titles, including Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill: Volume I and Kill Bill: Volume II, as well as the eleven-time Academy Award-nominated film, The Aviator, starring Leonardo DiCaprio. Alexa’s cutting-edge voice technology makes it easier than ever for consumers to access their favorite movies and TV shows. For example, a parent who’s busy cooking in the kitchen can say, “Play How to Train Your Dragon on Tubi,” to entertain the whole family.

TUBI ANNOUNCES UK EXPANSION AND LAUNCH OF TUBI KIDS AT MIPCOM 2019 KEYNOTE

World’s largest ad-supported video on demand service will launch in the UK early 2020 with other countries to follow as part of rapid international expansion

Tubi Kids to launch October 21 with over 1,200 age-appropriate titles – over 5,000 hours of content – completely free

CANNES, FRANCE, October 14, 2019 – Tubi (www.tubi.tv), the world’s largest ad-supported video on demand (AVOD) service, today made a series of announcements during its keynote address at MIPCOM. The company will launch its service in the UK in early 2020, with additional territories to follow as part of Tubi’s rapid international expansion. In addition, Tubi will launch Tubi Kids on October 21, a new area of Tubi that will feature a robust library of children’s content – over 1,200 age-appropriate movies and television shows or over 5,000 hours of content at launch – completely free in a dedicated section built just for families.

In June, Tubi announced it had streamed 94 million hours of content for the entire month of May alone – a record at that time. Since then, it has grown to over 132 million hours in September – a 40% increase in four months. New titles currently available include Megamind starring Will Ferrell and Tina Fey, Scary Movie 1 and 2 starring Marlon Wayans and Anna Faris, the Academy Award-winner No Country for Old Men directed by Joel & Ethan Cohen, and the 13th season of the hit TV series The Bachelorette.

The launch of Tubi Kids, a destination for age-appropriate content on the Tubi Service, will help alleviate parents’ worries over what their children are watching. Tubi Kids will initially roll out to consumers in the US starting October 21 via Roku devices and will be available on all major streaming devices in the near future. It will contain over 1,200 titles at launch – or over 5,000 hours of content, and starting in November will include hit movies How to Train Your Dragon, Norm of the North, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows,alongside series with iconic characters including Sonic the Hedgehog, Strawberry Shortcake, Paddington Bear, The Wiggles and many more – all completely free.
